TripIt is an application that arranges your travel itineraries by gathering confirmation numbers from an email inbox. This app is especially helpful for those who travel frequently, since the app can organize multiple trips at one time. The vice president of business development and a co-founder of TripIt, Scott Hintz described TripIt as “not trying to solve a niche need, but a clear itinerary is a problem that everybody has on every trip.” Imagine you have dinner reservations, an early flight in the morning, you have to rent a car, and stay in a hotel once you have arrived at your destination; TripIt will take all the confirmation numbers in your email and create a simple itinerary all in one place. This app also monitors your flights and checks for delays or cancellations. TripIt will send an Email alert if anything happens concerning your flight, as well as sending alternate flight options. TripIt has partnered with American Express, Concur, OpenTable, Starwood Preferred Guest, Best Western, and many more. The Webby Awards in 2011 also presented TripIt with the “Best Travel Mobile App Award.”
