In 2014, are you planning to quit smoking, eat healthier, or start exercising? News Years resolutions are hard to commit to without constant motivation to change your normal routine. The app 21habit is based off of the idea that you must repeat a task 21 times to form a habit. In the application, you choose the behavior you want to develop or get rid of, and each day you will receive some reassuring motivation.
The app has two different options you can choose from: the free version or the committed version. The free version checks in with you everyday to make sure you are making progress towards your goal. The committed mode asks you to pay 21 dollars up front for 21 days you plan to build or overcome your habit. Each day you succeed, you earn 1 dollar back from the 21 dollars you started with. Every day you regress, a dollar is donated to a charity of your choice.
There’s no guarantee that after 21 days you will be able to resist unhealthy foods or run 3 miles without stopping; however, the application can help to make positive changes in your life when you need that extra boost of encouragement. 21habit is available on both the iPhone and iPad for $0.99.
What are your new years resolutions? How do you plan on making 2014 your best year yet?
