Ever find yourself running late to a business meeting with your gas gauge on empty and with no time to root around for a gas station? How about quickly trying to find a coffee shop in an unfamiliar location to arrange a meeting with a new business prospect? Well if you haven’t heard, there is a great free app called AroundMe that can handle it and more.
AroundMe is a free simple to use app available for the iPhone, iPad, Android, or Windows phone that allows you to quickly find places and critical services around you. The app uses geolocation to locate banks/ATM’s, coffee shops, gas stations, restaurants, hotels, and more. It creates lists of places and services in easy to view categories. When you select a category, such as restaurants, the app will list all restaurants that are around you and provide distances along with mapping to show you how to get from here to there. The app also provides phone number and website information that can be easily saved to your own contacts list. And for such things as restaurants, hotels and the like, the app also provides customer reviews.
AroundMe was named one of Time Magazine’s top 10 iphone apps in 2008, and is a must for any business traveler, road warrior, or weekend explorer.
